History

Founded in 1990, NCML has grown to become one of Australia's leading providers of credit and receivables management services.

   1990

NCML (originally called Pacific Mercantile) is founded in South Australia.

   1994

NCML opens its Melbourne office on Little Bourke Street, in response to escalating demands for an interstate presence.

   1995

NCML gains its first government sector clients, Transport SA and the Council of Burra (now Regional Council of Goyder).

   1997

NCML commences collection and legal services for the Australian Gas & Light Company (AGL). SA Water awards NCML the initial debt collection contract for the recovery of delinquent rates and general debts.

   2000

NCML, still known as Pacific Mercantile, adopts its current name after being acquired by the ASX-listed company Tradehouse International.

   2001

NCML opens its Perth office in response to the demand for local service provision in Western Australia.

   2003

NCML opens its National Call Centre in Melbourne, featuring the latest computer systems and dialler technologies to manage the increasing workflow.

   2005

Votraint No.1537 Pty Ltd (Votraint) was incorporated to acquire 100% of the shares in NCML. NCML is awarded another significant government contract with the SA and VIC Government Strategic Purchasing (MAPS) Group.

   2007

NCML establishes its specialist debt purchasing division, Great Western Asset Management (GWAM), in response to a growing demand for services and proven success with aged debt portfolios.

   2008

NCML is selected as a preferred provider for the whole of Western Australian Government (Shared Services Portfolio). NCML is awarded the contract to provide services as an External Collection Partner to the Australian Taxation Office.

   2011

NCML, along with its sister companies Hudson Lawyers and GWAM, is purchased by Thorn Group Limited (Thorn).
